Magisterarbeit aus dem Jahr 2011 im Fachbereich Germanistik - Neuere Deutsche Literatur, Note: 1,3, Christian-Albrechts-Universität Kiel (Neuere Deutsche Literatur- und Medienwissenschaft ), Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Tocotronic gelten gemeinhin als die „angry young men des deutschen Indie-Pop" und als „Musterknaben" der sogenannten Hamburger Schule, eine musikalisch-künstlerische Bewegung, die sich durch gesellschaftskritische und diskursiv-reflexive Songtexte auszeichnet. Tocotronic verbinden in ihren Songtexten Protestbekundungen mit Reflexionen zur Kunst im Allgemeinen, als auch mit Reflexionen zur Popmusik im Speziellen. Das Forschungsinteresse der hier vorliegenden Arbeit besteht in der literaturwissenschaftlichen Analyse der Songtexte Tocotronics hinsichtlich der Protestbekundungen und der eingenommenen gegenkulturellen Haltungen auf der einen Seite und der Reflexionen zur Kunst auf der anderen. Die Fragestellung der vorliegenden Arbeit lautet konkret: Welche Protestbekundungen und gegenkulturelle Haltungen und welche Reflexionen zur Kunst beziehungsweise zur Popmusik sind in den Songtexten zu finden und durch welche Stilmittel werden diese literarisch produktiv gemacht? Im Mittelpunkt der Betrachtung stehen ausgewählte, repräsentative Songtexte der Konzeptalben "Pure Vernunft darf niemals siegen", "Kapitulation" und "Schall und Wahn". Die Arbeitshypothese bezüglich der zu analysierenden Songtexte dieser drei Musikalben lautet, dass die Songtexte Tocotronics nicht dem klassischen Schema eines Protestsongs folgen. Vielmehr ist den Songtexten, beispielsweise mittels der Verwendung von Metaebenen und ironischen Brechungen, eine reflexive und diskursive Eigenheit immanent, welche, um mit einer Textzeile Tocotronics zu sprechen, „Hinein in einen Wald aus Zeichen" führt. Hinter diesem durchaus semiotisch zu deutenden „Wald aus Zeichen" verbergen sich ersten Schlussfolgerungen nach unter anderem Reflexionen über die kritischen Artikulationsmöglichkeiten eines Son
